Fantastic Four! Lava nominated in CIPR PRide Awards

The team at Lava, the Lincoln-based integrated marketing communications agency, are dusting down their DJs and fishing outtheir best frocks after being nominated four times in the 2012 Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ PRide Awards.

The Silver Street agency, which has clients across the UK, has been shortlisted four times in three categories. Lava’s campaign for SO Festival 2011 on behalf of East Lindsey District Council is nominated for Best Integrated Campaign, as is Bedroom2Boardroom, an event delivered for The Prince’s Trust.

Bedroom2Boardroom is also shortlisted for Best Event and Best Public Sector campaign.

Last year, Lava came away from the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire PRide Awards with two Silver Awards – one for SO Festival 2010 and one for Outstanding Small Consultancy, a category the agency has outgrown as they have too many staff to enter.

Both SO Festival 2011 and Bedroom2Boardroom have already received national recognition from the marketing community, with Lava winning two Golds, a Silver and a Bronze in the national Fresh Awards earlier this year.

“We’re all thrilled with the nominations. We put a load of hard work into the campaigns and delivered some fantastic results, whichmade our clients very happy. That’s what we focus on,” says Lava’s managing director Matt Hammerton. “Winning awards and being recognised for excellence is the icing on the cake and we’re really looking forward to the November awards ceremony in Leeds. Fingers crossed we’ll bring a gong or two home.”

The CIPR PRide Awards recognise the best in public relations across the nations and regions of the United Kingdom.

Over 1,000 entries were received from freelancers, agencies and in-house teams the length and breadth of the UK.

CIPR CEO, Jane Wilson MCIPR, commented: “The CIPR PRide Awards celebrate the best PR and communications campaigns and teams from the profession across the UK. The sheer number of high quality entries received this year, especially when things are still pretty tough out there economically, is testament to a thriving nationwide industry. Congratulations to everyone for reaching this stage and the best of luck for the awards presentation evenings.”
