A cluster of whg bungalows overlooking a leafy common are bathed in light between dusk and dawn to ensure residents feel safe and secure.
Leading landlord whg has illuminated the 23 properties after customers said the area was too dark at nightfall.
Almost 40 energy efficient security lights have been fitted to the front and rear external walls of the homes in Little Common and Green Lane, Pelsall. And residents are delighted with the results.
Sheila Mills, has lived in her bungalow for 12 years, and said: “It’s a big improvement to what was already a lovely area. When I come home in the evening I can now see to find my front door key and also the lock.”
Margaret Edwards, who lives with husband John, added: “The new lights have helped our neighbours and us no end. Not least is the fact we feel safe when we walk home from the village as we know there is no-one lurking in the shadows.”
The request was made by residents at one of whg’s regular estate tours, held across the borough so customers can report issues to the local Estate Management Team. whg considered the request and promptly scheduled the work in.
Hayley Scott-Priest, of whg’s Aldridge & Brownhills Estate Management Team, said: “The security lighting makes the bungalows stand out very effectively, without detracting from the picturesque location.
“I’m very pleased we’ve been able to improve the neighbourhood for customers and delight them with a swift response to their request.”
