Fortec Distribution Network employee Andrew Spencer is set to embark upon an 84-mile trek across one of Britain’s most historic monuments to raise funds for terminally ill children.
Andrew, Transport Planner with the company, based at Watford Gap in Northamptonshire, will join five friends in walking along Hadrian’s Wall from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway, Cumbria, to raise funds for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.
Every penny raised by Andrew will go to the care of babies and young children with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses, or those with special complex needs.
The group are hoping to cover around 15 miles a day over seven days, starting on May 25th. All essentials needed for the challenge will be carried by the trekkers along the way.
Andrew came up with the idea to raise money for Zoe’s after Fortec named the hospice as its chosen charity.
He and his friends have created a blog – called Three Men On A Walk – in which they will regularly update on their preparation for the event and post pictures and updates along the way. Supporters too can post messages of encouragement over the seven days.
