Integrated communications agency Seal has boosted its trophy cabinet by winning a Golden Hedgehog Award 2012, an industry awards event which recognises campaigns that transform the PR industry.

Already recognised each year at the region’s CIPR awards, Seal is delighted to scoop this award after fighting off stiff competition from the London big agency players.

Seal triumphed in the Low Budget Campaign of the Year category for long standing client, Wing Yip, the UK’s leading Oriental grocer, promoting the launch of the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit 2011.

Seal’s deputy managing director, Lucy Kemp said: “We are proud to be part of a growing number of Midland agencies taking the awards limelight as clients choose more cost effective but highly creative agencies outside London.

“This award cements our position as a leading agency for great value campaigns alongside achieving exceptional results for big budget national brands such as Michelin.

“We’re thrilled to have won for ourselves and, of course, on behalf of Wing Yip, proving we are continually developing fresh ideas for one of our longest standing clients.”

Seal showed the strength and depth of its work by also being shortlisted in the Best Event category for The Midcounties Cooperative Member of the Year Awards and for the Best Consumer PR Campaign for Get Involved with Enjoy Staffordshire.

The Golden Hedgehogs celebrate and recognise outstanding PR agencies and exceptional PR talent across the UK. The Midlands, Wales and South London event was held on Thursday at Villa Park in Birmingham.
