whg applauded some of the men and women who invest countless
hours and bundles of energy into their communities.
Community spirit was celebrated by the leading Midlands housing
provider at its third annual ROCCs (Recognising Our Customers and
Communities) event.
Rob Gilham, whg Director of Housing Services, thanked guests for
their unwavering commitment to the community. "What you do is
hugely important and this borough would be a less pleasant place
without you. On behalf of everyone who lives and works in Walsall,
I thank you and hope that you continue your good work which
benefits us all."
More than 140 guests gathered at Banks's Stadium for the
ceremony, sponsored by whg contractors and suppliers EC Harris,
Wates, Wolseley, Pinnacle PSG, Sitex Orbis and Concept
Elevators.
In all, 49 awards were presented to a variety of recipients
including community groups, individuals, a husband and wife
partnership and even a pair of twin sisters.
Rob added: "It was an excellent event and once again served to
remind us how important it is that we recognise and support these
outstanding members of society who do so much in the name of
community spirit."
Philip McWatt, of Blakenall, was among the winners and said: "It
was a lovely evening, enjoyed by everyone and the support from whg
is very much appreciated."
