Local charity, Acorns Children's Hospice, is appealing for
support from generous local companies and organisations for two
major fundraising events in May to help raise essential money for
local life limited and life threatened children and their
families.
The first event takes place on Sunday 20 May during superhero
themed Children's Hospice Week (18 -25 May). Participants can dress
as their favourite superhero in recognition of the heroic work of
local hospices as they challenge themselves to abseil 120ft down
the House of Fraser building in Birmingham.
On Sunday 27 May, a new event will see dogs take their owner for
a 3km or 6km walk around the beautiful surroundings of Sutton Park
to help raise vital funds for the local charity.
Opportunities are available to sponsor an individual element or
the whole event, starting from as little as £500. In return,
sponsors will receive possible benefits including branding on
marketing materials and event web pages, product placement and
branding at the event, company logo on the event medal ribbons and
literature in participant event packs.
Kerrie Davies, events manager at Acorns Children's Hospice, said
"Support from local companies and organisations is key for us to be
able to make these events a fundraising success.
"Acorns provides care for and support for children and young
people with life limiting or life threatening conditions. These
children often need care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
"It costs £750 for one child's care per day and we rely on
voluntary donations for the majority of our income."
