Hamstrings were burning, as the team at Stratique Marketing,
Design and PR took part in a challenging 10K run at Kingsbury Water
Park to raise money for Midlands' Air Ambulance.
In the time leading up to the run, the team trained together
after work, steadily building their endurance and stamina. Despite
this rigorous training routine, in his enthusiasm to raise money
for this brilliant charity, Andrew Wilson, Managing Director,
Stratique, broke a metatarsal in his foot during the run and was
unable to continue. Graham Pinkney and Melanie Kamdar went on to
complete the distance, whilst Charlotte Perry stopped to take
injured Andrew to hospital.
Midlands' Air Ambulance desperately needs donations to be able
to afford new helmets to protect the helicopter pilots and on-board
paramedics as they work tirelessly to save the lives of others.
A spokesperson for the charity said, "Midlands Air Ambulance
would like to thank Stratique for their fundraising efforts. The
team took part in a sponsored run and raised a fantastic £465
for the lifesaving charity.
Support like this is vital in ensuring that Midlands Air
Ambulance can remain operational and as the charity celebrates its
21st anniversary this year, work place efforts are a great way to
get involved and have fun.
Midlands Air Ambulance needs £6 million a year and
receives neither Government nor National Lottery funding and the
support from the team at Stratique will help us to go on and save
countless more lives for many more years to come"
Stratique have raised over £530 in total for the charity,
contributing to keeping the three air ambulances operational.
