Design and Engineering firm Arup has enjoyed a positive start to
the New Year by encouraging staff to invest in their wellbeing and
become involved in a number of activities taking place throughout
this week.
The Midlands leadership team in partnership with HR designed the
programme of activities including relaxation sessions,
inspirational speakers, mobile opticians and external stands from
the NHS and local gyms along with free fruit for employees.
Des Correia, business leader of Arup in the Midlands commented:
"The week covers topics such as enhancing work-life balance,
becoming more active, improving health and even making time to
relax and socialise - all of which are key factors in promoting a
happy and healthy outlook and gaining the best from staff."
Long-standing staff member Georgia Baron said: "I think focusing
on personal wellbeing is a worthwhile investment both for the firm
and employees. Any initiative that addresses the balance of work,
rest and play can't be a bad thing."
The week will draw to a close on Friday with an invite to all
staff to meet informally and chat over refreshments.
