Derby solicitors, Flint Bishop, have played a key role in the
sale of two leading radio-controlled car brands to a major US
firm.
Team Durango and ARRMA approached Flint Bishop's corporate law
team to advise them on the legal aspects of the sale to US company
Hobbico, the world's leading manufacturer and marketer of model
hobby products. The deal was completed simultaneously with the
acquisition by Hobbico of Californian company Axial.
Team Durango is a leading brand of state-of-the-art off-road and
on-road vehicles in 1/10 and 1/8 scale and holds both world and
national championship titles.
Introduced in 2011, ARRMA was developed by d Radio Control Ltd
to offer radio-controlled vehicle enthusiasts a selection of
vehicles with advanced features, unique designs and parts
compatibility.
Both brands will now operate as Hobbico subsidiaries from their
current locations at Ashby-de-la- Zouch in Leicestershire.
Jason Dearden, Managing Director of ARRMA Durango Ltd says:
"Flint Bishop's corporate team were easy to work with, fast to
respond and kept on top of the deal to prevent delays on our side.
They worked into the early hours to make sure the deal concluded to
meet the various time zones involved. This is the biggest deal of
its kind that I've had to tackle, but with their help I always felt
in control."
Head of Corporate at Flint Bishop, Ran Oren says: "We are very
pleased to have helped Team Durango and ARRMA to successfully
achieve the sale of their businesses. This transaction involved
parties in multiple jurisdictions and I am delighted that the long
term success of the brands has been secured through everyone's hard
work.
"Business owners can go through a lot of changes and our
commitment to developing long term client-focused relationships has
led to us having very high client retention. As a result we have
been cited in the leading law directory The Legal 500 as having a
quality of advice and customer service that is second-to none".
