Building innovation at Ecobuild

Ecobuild 2012 takes place between Tuesday 20th March and Thursday 22nd March 2012 at ExCel, London

2012 could be the year East Midlands construction-based businesses make that all important break into the market place. The Sustainable Construction iNet (iNet), the Daventry-based organisation which identifies and assists businesses developing innovative techniques and services for the construction industry, is offering an exclusive opportunity for up to 20 SMEs to join them and exhibit at Ecobuild, the world's biggest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment.

At Ecobuild 2011, iNet partnered and subsidised 15 of the East Midlands' most innovative firms, exposing them to over 50,000 visitors throughout the three day event. This year, iNet wants to maximise this opportunity and is calling for even more companies to partner them at Ecobuild 2012, which takes place between Tuesday 20th March and Thursday 22nd March 2012 at ExCel, London.

Charles Meynell, senior innovation advisor said: "The UK construction sector is facing one of its most difficult periods in recent years, funding has dried up and orders have slowed yet the demand on firms to be greener higher than ever. I believe we have to innovate our way out of trouble and develop new techniques and products which can help bring the sector and the economy back into shape. By exhibiting at Ecobuild with iNet, we are offering SMEs a shop window to showcase their products and services to a multi-national, targeted audience for a fraction of the real cost. It is an opportunity not to be missed."

Mick Baines, MD, InterLED, who exhibited at Ecobuild 2011 commented: "We have been exceedingly busy since Ecobuild and have visited an NHS regional trust with 84 buildings which is looking to trial our products in their headquarters."

Businesses already signed up for this year's event include: Derbyshire-based EKV Design and Beresford's Flooring Ltd, Nottinghamshire-based Hertalan Waste Plan Solutions and Banbury Innovations, Leicestershire-based Metz Architects and Eco Trackway & PRIMA Flooring and Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership.

Interested parties should contact Claire Finch at Ecobuild on 020 7560 4463 or email cfinch@ibeltd.com.

iNet is based at the iCon Centre in Daventry, a purpose-built business hub featuring best-practice design with sustainability. Interested parties should contact the iNet on info@construction-inet.org.uk or telephone 01604 892326.
