Aston University to showcase latest research to regional business community

Aston University is inviting representatives from businesses and public sector organisations based in the West Midlands to a research showcase evening on Wednesday February 15th.

The event will provide attendees with an opportunity to find out more about the latest groundbreaking, innovative and applicable research taking place at the University.

Researchers at the university are advancing scientific and theoretical knowledge in areas including bioenergy, photonics, healthy ageing, language loss, leadership and organisational effectiveness. Aston is committed to sharing and implementing the outcomes of research with the wider community including businesses and other organisations.

This event is timed to coincide with the launch of the first 2 editions of 'Aston Advances' - a series of publications which will show how research tackles some of the major issues that impact on individuals, communities and businesses today.

This event will include short presentations from some of our leading researchers on areas including bioenergy, entrepreneurship and language used by female executives. Arrival will be from 16.30pm for drinks and canapés and the event will include time to speak with leading Aston researchers and to network with other attendees.

Peter Shearer, Director of the Business Partnership Unit at Aston said, "This is an opportunity for companies and public sector organisations to learn more about the research at Aston University. We'll welcome meeting with both existing and potential partners to discuss how we can collaborate with them and how they can benefit from our research."

The event is taking on Wednesday 15th February in Suite 5/6, Lakeside Conference Centre, Aston University, from 16.30 - 18.00pm.
