The SP Holding Group can now offer a total truck and trailer care service for logistics companies with the acquisition of leading Black Country trailer maintenance and repair company Trailercare.

SP Holding, based in Telford, already operates a truck maintenance and repairs service, a Renault Trucks dealership, a VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency) truck test facility plus a truck and specialist vehicle hire, leasing and sales service.

It has now acquired Trailercare, based at Willenhall, near Wolverhampton, which has a turnover of £1.2 million and employs 25 staff.

Steve Holding, Managing Director of SP Holding, said: "This is an exciting development for us. We have acquired Trailercare because there is a good fit with our other services. 

"It means we can now offer a total truck and trailer care service to our logistics customers, including maintenance, repairs, hire, leasing and sales.

"We are now working hard to integrate Trailercare into SP Holding. There will be new investment as part of a rapid development programme.

"What will emerge will be a better, stronger operation, providing its customers with an excellent service, backed by SP Holding's strong reputation for quality, service and financial stability.

"Trailercare has some important longterm contracts and those will continue. We will also be looking to expand and develop the services offered, so our new truck and trailer care service goes from strength to strength."

Operating from a 10,000 sq ft maintenance depot on the Long Acre Industrial Estate in Willenhall, Trailercare offers a nationwide service for contract and fleet management including breakdown cover, sales and finance.

It provides a mobile maintenance a repairs service through a fleet of nine vans and also embeds engineers with key clients where necessary.

Clients include AF Blakemore, also based in Willenhall, and Culina, in Market Drayton, Shropshire. The company provides a non-contract repairs and maintenance service for dozens of other companies in the Midlands.

The SP Holding Group last month celebrated the first anniversary of its Renault Truck Dealership, which offers high quality repair, maintenance after care services, backed by the latest diagnostics in a modern workshop.
