The next phase in the growth of award-winning regional
contractor Baggaley Construction has begun with the news that Phil
Askin has been appointed managing director.
Formerly the Mansfield-based company's commercial director, Phil
has taken over the role from Ian Baggaley who, after six years in
the post, succeeds his father as chairman of Baggaley Group.
Commenting on his appointment, Phil said: "Baggaley Construction
is the epitome of a well-run, family-owned regional contractor as
it consistently delivers quality and value for its clients. I
believe there's a great opportunity to capitalise on the company's
strong reputation in both the private and public sectors and I am
excited to be in a position to help deliver the next part of its
growth plans."
Phil joined the company in January 2011 as commercial director.
A chartered quantity surveyor and a graduate of Nottingham Trent
University, he trained at John Laing and developed his career with
Wates Construction.
Baggaley Construction employs more than 130 people and has an
annual turnover of £50m, with 80 per cent of its business
coming from repeat clients.
The company is part of a number of framework agreements
including, among others, East Midlands Property Alliance, YORbuild
(the Yorkshire Regional Framework), and the Repair and Maintenance
Framework for District of North West Leicestershire and Borough of
Charnwood, Leicestershire County Council and Sport England.
