Worcester's Spire South Bank Hospital is starting 2012 at a pace
with an ongoing investment programme designed to ensure the
hospital stays at the forefront of private care in the region.
A new fixed site MRI scanner has recently been installed to
offer a 24/7 service to patients and consultants - increasing the
hospital's flexibility and enabling the development of 'one stop
shop' clinic sessions for a variety of investigations.
Spire South Bank Hospital Director Ben Nicholson says that the
MRI scanner, installed at a cost of £1 million, is just the
latest in a continuing programme of investments that will boost the
hospital's already excellent reputation for high quality patient
care.
"The past few years have seen an unprecedented investment in our
facilities and services, including the launch of our state of the
art Spire Eye Centre; Bone & Joint orthopaedics and
physiotherapy brand and the opening of The Lodge, our exclusive
cosmetic surgery consulting suite.
"This year will see the introduction of more new services,
including an oncology suite and mole clinic, the increasing use of
laser technology for urology patients and a state-of-the-art
fluoroscopy system."
South Bank is also expanding its geographical reach, he
revealed.
"We already have outreach clinics in Droitwich, Malvern and
Evesham and have further clinics planned in North Worcestershire,
Gloucestershire and Herefordshire; all due to be unveiled early
this year. It's a very exciting time for us."
The director's confidence in the future is backed up by a recent
patient satisfaction survey at Spire South Bank saw 92% of patients
rating the overall quality of service as 'excellent or very
good'.
