A Midlands manhole manufacturer has appointed a new production
manager to oversee delivery of its increasing order book.
Leading drainage and access cover fabricator Fabweld Steel
Products has strengthened its experienced team with the appointment
of 40-year-old Jason Davis.
Mr Davis, who has worked in manufacturing throughout his career,
has been promoted after joining the Telford company in August 2010
as team manager on the shopfloor.
The appointment comes as FSP drives forward its ambitious plan
for 35 per cent growth over the next five years.
Managing director Richard Hilton said: "We believe Jason's
appointment will bring huge benefits to the company. He is an
experienced employee and will be an asset to FSP in this role.
"We have a company ethos of developing our workforce and
promoting from within. Jason knows FSP and its product range
extremely well, and we're delighted to have made this
appointment.
"We are growing our company in a time when many manufacturers
are contracting, with projects both in the UK and overseas. Our
production capabilities and our shopfloor team are strengthened
with Jason at the production helm."
Mr Davis, a father-of-four who lives in Madeley, added: "I hope
to bring my experience of continuous improvements to the production
division at Fabweld Steel Products. It is a company which believes
in training and investment in its employees, which results in a
dedicated and committed workforce. I am pleased to have the
opportunity to play a role in Fabweld's expansion programme."
FSP's previous production manager, John Tudor, now leads the
sales team which has been expanded to cope with increasing demand
for the company's products.
This year, FSP developed the SOLO SLIDETM, a new recessed
manhole cover and frame, with a unique feature eliminating health
and safety lifting concerns.
Fabricated from mild steel, it can blend in with the surrounding
area. A unique feature of the SOLO SLIDETM is an ergonomically
designed key which allows for single person operation.
