Students at Light Hall School, Solihull, were given a lesson in
self-esteem when personal development coach, Suzanne Skeete, paid a
special visit to a group of 13-15 year olds.
Delivering two workshops on positivity, self-esteem and
confidence building, Suzanne helped give students the tools for
success by encouraging them to challenge beliefs and change their
mindset.
Suzanne Skeete, owner of Global Consultancy Services said:
"Often in my work, I find that the limiting self beliefs that cause
problems in adulthood stem from childhood and adolescence. By
challenging negative self beliefs before they have a chance to take
hold, we can give young people a chance to reach their full
potential sooner rather than later."
Kim Cole, Alternative Curriculum Co-Ordinator at Light Hall
School said: "Suzanne's sessions were both enjoyable and thought
provoking. By encouraging students to look at things from a
different perspective and take control of their lives, Suzanne
showed them that a more positive future is possible.
"It's important that students are prepared for life beyond
school and leave us with not just qualifications, but life skills
such as these to help them be successful on their chosen path. This
was a real eye opener for many and the students are already taking
actions and setting goals to get them on a path towards
achievement."
