Chop & Wok noodle bar caused a frenzy in Sutton Coldfield on
the 25th January with free food and a chance to win an iPad.
Located on the Birmingham Road, Chop & Wok were giving away
free food from 12pm - 6pm, word spread fast as scores of people
lined the pavements throughout the day with big crowds continuously
causing congestion in store and around the surrounding pavements as
people rushed to get their free food. Due to the huge demand
waiting times peaked into the hours which didn't phase most, as
crowds inside the store waited patiently for their order. The day
saw hundreds of people from all age groups and professions come
together, from students to nearby office workers and OAP's to
School pupils.
In total just under £5,000 worth of free food was given
away and a little over 800 customers were served throughout the
day.
Aman Bhandal, Chop & Wok's Director said:
"Absolutely amazing what a turnout from the local residents and
working community. We knew it would be busy but we never expected
to draw such big crowds. I'm so pleased so many people turned up to
support Chop & Wok and I would like to say a big thank you to
everyone for attending that day and I hope that the residents of
Sutton were not disrupted too much with the surge in footfall. The
reason why we decided to offer the free food is because we plan to
do the same thing at each newly opened store, we feel it generates
a real buzz and most importantly people get to try the food, once
you've tasted a Chop & Wok you'll defeinatly be
back."
