Home buyers get housing advice

Home buyers confused about mortgages and the various government incentive schemes currently on offer can benefit from a hassle-free solution to getting on the property ladder, as leading house builder Charles Church hosts a 'FirstBuy Open Day' event at its Edgbaston development.

The event, taking place on Saturday, January 21, at the Charles Church Deers Leap site, aims to bring together independent mortgage advisors and a homebuy agent to offer information to members of the public about their housing options.

The popular Roebuck Road development, featuring a combination of apartments and three storey properties, will welcome visitors from 10am to 1pm for the free advisory service.

Persimmon Homes South Midlands sales director, Alison Reading, said: "The event is a great way for visitors to chat face to face with the various experts about their individual concerns, such as how they can benefit from the FirstBuy scheme, in a relaxed and informal way.

FirstBuy enables qualifying house buyers to own 100 per cent of their home by providing loans totalling 20 per cent of the purchase price from Charles Church and the government, putting down a five per cent deposit and raising a mortgage for the remaining 75 per cent. There is no interest to pay on the equity loan for the first five years.

"The event will take place in our new apartment marketing suite where we plan to open our latest show home in mid-February," added Alison. "The new apartment will give visitors a clear insight into the quality build and specification associated with Charles Church brand.

"There is no need to book an appointment, just come along and drop in. We look forward to helping Edgbaston home owners make the dream of owning their own property a reality."

Prices at Deers Leap start from £98,360.
