A Rosette Award
With triple A ratings under threat in the financial world, no
such fears exist in the culinary world for multi-award winning
hotel and restaurant East Lodge, who have just been awarded the
prestigious triple Rosette status by the AA.
AA Rosettes are one of the 'gold standards' for restaurants to
aspire to and an upgrade to three Rosettes places East Lodge firmly
in the select club of the best restaurants in the Britain - only
the top 10% of restaurants in the UK can expect to receive triple
Rosette status and out of the entire country, only seven
restaurants (including East Lodge) have been newly-awarded three
Rosette status this year.
"We are delighted to have secured this important upgrade, which
is yet another milestone in East Lodge's quest for excellence in
everything we do," said East Lodge Deputy Managing Director Iain
Hardman. "We have put a great deal of effort into refining our
offering and clearly the judges agree that the result is first
class. It is a triumph for the hard work and dedication of all the
staff and our head chef Simon Bradley, who has gone the extra mile
to see us reach these culinary heights."
The upgrade to three AA Rosettes follows in the wake of a
£1/4 million kitchen redevelopment and the launch of an
exclusive Indigo Chef's Table in 2011 - placing diners at the heart
of the kitchen action and able to experience the very best of
Simon's artistic flair first hand. East Lodge offers an exceptional
fine dining restaurant and in addition to the Chef's Table, offers
the best in British cuisine with Simon's passion for the
gastronomic traditions of Gallic cooking shining through.
Good restaurants can expect one Rosette, while only the very
best restaurants receive two. Three rosettes are reserved for:
'outstanding restaurants that demand national recognition well
beyond their local area.1'
"For a hotel and restaurant like East Lodge in Derbyshire to
receive three Rosettes is an amazing achievement and the news is
still sinking in," added Iain. "To be up there with the very best
in the country is a proud moment for us all - its already looking
set to be another incredible year at East Lodge."
This new status singles out East Lodge not just as one of the
finest hotels in the region, but as one of the cream of select
restaurants in the UK too and it is looking like the beginning of
another year of awards and accolades for one of the jewels in the
Peak District's crown.
"Speaking on behalf of the kitchen brigade, we tend to focus on
customers and food rather than awards, but it's really nice when
your efforts are appreciated and we are all pleased the judges
thought our offering merited three Rosettes," said Head Chef Simon
Bradley. "Now we look forward to designing menus to help all of our
bridal couples celebrate their big days at East Lodge this year as
well as producing menus to celebrate Valentine's Day and a special
menu for 29 February as it's the girls' turn this year!!"
3 AA Rosettes now allows East Lodge to describe itself as one of
the top UK venues for food as well as accommodation and the AA's
red stars place the hotel in a select bracket of the top 150 hotels
in the whole of the UK and this exclusive venue remains one of just
48 hotels in the country presented with a Visit England Gold
Award.
