When a Midlands woman entered her puppy in a canine contest at a
county show, she didn't realise that it would 'lead' to a new line
of business.
Kathryn Holloway, from Bridgnorth, who runs successful
promotional merchandising company Promofix, was asked by the show
organisers to then help them promote a large forthcoming
championship event.
Although her young Pomeranian, called Wookie, didn't win his
section, he still managed a rosette and Kathryn has since come up
with the idea of producing a quirky but very practical item - a
personalised dog lead.
The new leads will help promote county dog show organisers
Shrop-Dog, formed by Shropshire Canine societies who have joined
together to launch a Top Dog competition.
Owners of all breeds can gain points from competitions held at
rural shows around the county throughout the summer months.
The new bespoke leads will be given to all 64 qualifiers at the
Top Dog Finals to be held at The Holiday Inn, at Telford, on 11th
February.
Event organiser James Gaffney said: "The Shrop-Dog committee are
absolutely delighted with the leads and we are very grateful to
Kathryn for all her time and efforts in coming up with such a
simple, yet fun and practical gift idea for our finalists."
Kathryn added: "Wookie had a wonderful time mixing with the many
other breeds at the show and I am pleased to have created a special
item for the Shrop-Dog Finals."
