A Rugby shopping centre has received the prestigious Park Mark
Award following a successful independent audit of the premises and
management systems by the British Parking Association and a local
Police Officer specialising in measures to help crime
reduction.
Clock Towers Shopping Centre, which is managed by DTZ, was
audited on areas including, vehicle and pedestrian access, lighting
facilities, CCTV, cleaning and crime statistics.
Andrew King, Associate Director from DTZ commented: "By
attaining this award we can assure customers and visitors to Clock
Towers that the quality and safety of where they park their
vehicles is of great importance to us and that we recognise the
parking environment is a vital part of the shopping experience. The
Centre Manager, Tony Spencer and the management team are
continually striving to improve the car park and the award is a
reflection of their hard work and customer friendly approach."
The Park Mark Safer Parking Scheme is an initiative of the
Associations of Chief Police Officers and is aimed at reducing both
crime and the fear of crime in parking facilities.
Michael Gardner from the British Parking Association said: "The
Clock Tower Shopping Centre was previously in the Safer Parking
Scheme in 2005 and it is great that they have now returned and
obtained Park Mark status once again. The Park Mark award is all
about reducing crime and the fear of crime - by achieving this
prestigious award, the shopping centre provides shoppers in Rugby
with the benefit of safer parking. I have been impressed by the
enthusiastic approach of DTZ and the on-site centre management team
in obtaining this award."
