Multi award-winning East Lodge hotel and restaurant continues to
push the culinary boundaries as we enter 2012. The Rowsley country
house hotel is kick starting the New Year with two new menu options
for the restaurant, allowing food lovers to go for the classic
simpler solution or opt for an innovative cutting edge tasting
menu.
Starting this week, Head Chef Simon Bradley has put together a
Classic Collection menu for those who like their food fresh,
fantastic yet unfussy, with the new five and eight course luxury
Tasting Menus reserved for those looking for a unique culinary
experience in the Derbyshire's Peaks.
The Classic Collection menu presents foodie favourites all at a
tempting price but with the East Lodge hallmark of quality. So
while starters include such classics as Smoked Salmon, the salmon
has been cured and smoked on site in the East Lodge smokery - while
the eggs used in the dishes are from East Lodge's own flock of
hens.
Mains include succulent beef, locally reared, corn fed chicken
and fish and a full of flavour fillet steak served with a
Béarnaise sauce for that added touch of decadence. Desserts
include a mouth watering Crème Brulee, a traditional hot
pudding and a cheeseboard; with two courses available for an
amazing £25 (supplement for fillet steak).
For those looking for something special, Simon has devised five
and eight course Tasting Menus for the whole table to savour. From
just £45 per person, you can sample such delicacies as whole
scampi seared on a plancha, Yorkshire pink rhubarb with a shellfish
vinaigrette; to braised pork (sourced in the Peak District of
course) with a Parmesan risotto; and the parfait of duck.
"We are launching these new menus this weekend and are confident
people will be as excitedas us with our new dining concept," said
East Lodge Deputy Managing Director Iain Hardman. "While our Indigo
sponsored Chef's Table continues to flourish with its own exclusive
tasting menus, we wanted to offer the tasting concept to all our
guests too, while accepting that many would be sorry to see our
popular classics go."
"Simon has done a great job and reworked some firm favourites
for the classics menu while the tasting menus allow our regular
diners to try something new," added Iain. "We recognise in these
tough economic times that people do not want multiple course meals
very evening, so the classic collection allows people to choose a
lighter option on both the wallet and the waistline."
Never a venue to rest on its laurels, East Lode is always
looking to innovate and encourage guests to try something new and
the new menus have been devised to please those with classic taste,
while hoping they might dip a taste bud into something new too. The
new menus are available from this weekend onwards.
East Lodge is owned by the Hardman family and the AA's three red
stars place the hotel in a select bracket of the top 150 hotels in
the whole of the UK and this exclusive venue remains one of just 48
hotels in the country presented with a Visit England Gold
Award.
