Innovative construction professionals are invited to attend the
next free event in the series of workshops hosted by the
Sustainable Construction iNet (iNet) at the Pera Conference Centre,
Melton Mowbray on Thursday 26th January. Following the success of
its December 'Fabric First' construction event in Kettering, with
guest speakers from BRE and housebuilders Southdale, iNet is
hosting a morning seminar on the challenge of refurbishing the UK's
26 million homes to reduce emissions by 80% by 2050.
Speakers include Chris Ward-Brown from the National
Refurbishment Centre, who will explore the scale and nature of the
UK housing refurbishment market, setting out both challenges and
opportunities for construction companies. Additionally, Paul
Cartwright from BRE, who will explain the benefits of sustainable
refurbishment through an innovative and exemplary project, BRE's
Victorian Terrace.
The Sustainable Construction iNet is an East Midlands-wide
organisation which identifies and assists businesses developing
innovative techniques for use in construction. iNet is holding free
'iNet Clinics' throughout 2012 on the industry's hot topics,
allowing small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) from across the
East Midlands to discover first-hand the benefits and opportunities
available.
The morning clinic will also give the opportunity for delegates
to network with other East Midlands-based construction companies as
well as providing the opportunity to book in for a one-to-one
clinic with an iNet Advisor for help and advice to progress their
innovative products and ideas.
