The UK's most visited shopping centre, Bullring, welcomed over 5
million customers during the month of December as it celebrated one
of its most successful Christmas trading periods ever.
Over 1.3 million customers visited the centre in the week
leading up to Christmas taking advantage of the pre-Christmas
discounts offered by selected retailers, whilst a further 240,000
customers visited on Boxing Day making it the centre's busiest
Boxing Day in its eight year history.
Over 2,500 people queued along St Martin's Walk from as early as
2am as they awaited the Next sale whilst an additional 1,000 queued
from 5am for the opening of the Selfridges sale at 8am.
Tim Walley, General Manager at Bullring, commented: "The final
quarter of 2011 saw the opening of the centre's new dining
destination, Spiceal Street, and welcomed new retailers such as
Vans and True Religion, both new to the region. We've seen in
excess of 39 million customers visit Bullring during 2011 and would
like to thank our customers and retailers for their continued
support. With the Olympics, the Queen's Jubilee and a range of new
retailers joining the centre this year, we're looking forward to a
successful 2012."
