Ben Truslove, son of the founder of the Redditch-based business property consultants John Truslove, is to join the firm on January 30th.

His addition to the team will bring the total staff complement to ten.

Educated at Royal Grammar School Worcester, Ben Truslove studied at NottinghamUniversity where he achieved an honours degree in Environmental Biology.

In 2001 Ben joined SLR Consulting as an Assistant Environmental Surveyor where he worked for 5 years, reaching the position of Senior Environmental Consultant.

Ben then attended University of Central England in 2007, obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Real Estate Management. Since then he has been employed as a Management and Acquisition Surveyor at NFU Mutual in Stratford-upon-Avon, achieving MRICS status in 2009.

Aged 32, he is married with two daughters.

John Truslove said: "By coincidence, this is exactly the age I was when I started John Truslove after leaving Grimley, now GVA, in 1981."

"Ben is joining us as an Associate working on Landlord and Tenant instructions, undertaking rent reviews, lease renewals and regearing leases. In addition, he will assist Ian Parker and I on the agency side.

"Ben and Ian have been playing 5-a-side football together for over ten years so I am sure they will make a great team!"

John Truslove established his business in 1981 and operated initially from Lodge Park, Redditch before purchasing office premises at 15 The Square, Alvechurch.

It became clear from 1984 onwards that the majority of business was coming from Redditch, which had expanded from a small country town into a New Town under the Redditch Development Corporation, with numerous industrial estates and business parks being developed around the town.

He took an additional office in Evesham Street, Redditch, before purchasing what is now the business headquarters, Daralbee House, Archer Road, Redditch in 1986.

John Truslove commented: "As we have grown the business I have been very fortunate to recruit long-standing loyal staff. Ian Parker joined us in 1997, qualified in 2009 and is now a Partner. Jules Brandon, our Office Manager, has been with the firm since 1994.

"I look forward to working with Ian and Ben, continuing to develop the business and further enhancing our reputation both locally and regionally as the chartered surveyors' practice that really understands business."
