Birmingham is demonstrating its credentials as one of Europe’s most popular meeting destinations, partnering with Warwick Conferences at this year’s EIBTM in Barcelona, the leading global event for the meetings and events industry.
Exhibiting on VisitEngland’s stand for the three-day event which started on 29th November, the city’s business tourism programme Meet Birmingham, together with the University of Warwick based collection of conference venues, is highlighting the sheer variety of its regional proposition to more than 14,000 international industry leaders.
Ian Taylor, Commercial Director at Marketing Birmingham, the city’s strategic marketing partnership that operates the Meet Birmingham programme, commented:
“EIBTM represents an excellent opportunity for Birmingham to reinforce the message that we are an outstanding city to host and deliver first class events thanks to internationally renowned venues and hotels, a vibrant cultural scene, fantastic retail and restaurant options and a rich heritage.
“Our partnership with Warwick Conferences also allows us to highlight to a leading international audience the crucial role that our entire region can play in welcoming major events.”
Hosting some 4,000 events attended by in excess of 200,000 delegates each year, Warwick Conferences is an award-winning collection of venues based at the very heart of England, offering dedicated conference facilities on a 700-acre rural setting. The largest of its three purpose-built training and conference centres, Scarman, recently enjoyed an extensive £2 million renovation and refurbishment programme, with a brand new look and feel to its public areas, cementing its place as one of the leading venues of its kind in the UK.
Rachael Bartlett, Head of Sales and Marketing, Warwick Conferences, said:
“Our attendance at EIBTM 2011 is of great importance in our aim to reach and advise the European market of how we can meet and exceed their expectations. This is both in terms of our facilities and service standards. We are hoping to enable buyers to conference with confidence at Warwick. We are really excited about the show, and look forward to meeting valuable new contacts.”
Meet Birmingham and Warwick Conferences will form part of the VisitEngland stand G270 at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona.
