A £5 million purpose-built care home has been opened in
Birmingham three months ahead of schedule.
Absolute Care Homes (Central) Limited's three storey home for
elderly people with dementia has been financed by Yorkshire Bank's
Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) in Birmingham and could lead to
the creation of up to 160 jobs.
Work to build Boldmere Court Care Home, on Gravelly Lane in
Erdington, got underway in March and just eight months later the
68-bedroom facility is ready to welcome its first residents.
Chief executive Martin Pawar said the home would be a fantastic
asset for the local community and that the centre has already been
flooded with bookings and enquiries.
"The project has come together beautifully and we absolutely
thrilled with the end result," he said.
"Boldmere Court has been designed to offer the highest-quality
facilities for local people and we've had an amazing response from
key stakeholders and potential new residents since the
opening.
"The facilities are among the best there are, but just as
important is putting together the right team to give our residents
the highest standard of care.
"We were inundated with applications for jobs which have been
created, from nursing and care assistance staff, to laundry,
cleaning, cooking and gardening jobs.
"We've assembled a team of around 41 people and once the centre
is fully occupied the team will grow to around 160."
Paul Reeves, managing partner at Yorkshire Bank's Birmingham FSC
on Temple Row, said Boldmere Court is a highly impressive facility
that Absolute Care Homes should be proud of.
"Martin Pawar, operations director Mandy Thorn and the rest of
the team behind Absolute Care Homes have tremendous expertise of
the care sector and should be proud of this new facility," he said.
"The project has created jobs for the staff behind the
day-to-day running of the centre, along with local architects and
developers.
"Yorkshire Bank is delighted to have helped fund the development
and to be supporting Absolute Care Homes with its growth plans
which could eventually lead to further care homes being created in
the region."
