Willmott Dixon Partnerships' Birmingham branch have been busy
buying extra Christmas presents this year - to help spread a little
cheer to children in Africa.
Kind hearted employees from the repairs and maintenance
specialist organised their own shoe box appeal to collect items
which will be sent to an African village in time for Christmas
celebrations.
Staff from the branch have managed to collect shoe boxes full of
several necessary items for less fortunate people in the village of
Agome-sevah in Togo, West Africa.
The company's shoe box appeal has come as a result of its link
with the UK charity, Dekamile, which serves to provide clean water,
sanitation and improved infrastructure for the people of Togo.
The efforts of the team will contribute towards the outstanding
all-branch total of 292 shoe boxes being sent to the villagers.
Mick Williamson, managing director of Willmott Dixon
Partnerships, said, "We decided to put the idea of the shoebox
appeal to the branches and I am so surprised by the amount we have
managed to raise. The teams have donated so generously and their
goodwill and efforts will be hugely appreciated by those in
Agome-sevah who have so little."
Rod Unger, an experienced Construction Manager and founder of
Dekamile, added, "Words cannot express how delighted we are and
thankful on behalf of the villagers of Agomesevah in remote Togo. I
am personally going to be handing these to the local children and
what they will make of all this, I cannot imagine. They will be
overjoyed. They will certainly never have received such generosity
and kindness. The effort Willmott Dixon has made and the trouble
the staff have gone to is fabulous and I thank them so much for
their involvement in the appeal this year."
