Willmott Dixon Partnerships' Birmingham north based branch has
brought some festive cheer to vulnerable youngsters in the local
community - to help ensure that they have a 'cracker' of a
Christmas this year.
With the support of the repairs and maintenance specialist's
supplier Causeway, Willmott Dixon's local team donated two
Christmas trees and hand made decorations to the charity's
supported accommodation schemes in Acocks Green and Kings
Norton.
They also purchased, wrapped and delivered festive treats and
Christmas presents to youngsters living in the properties, which
had been provided by Willmott Dixon and Causeway.
St Basils works with young people across Birmingham and North
Worcestershire to help them to find and manage a home, develop
their confidence and skills and to prevent homelessness.
Willmott Dixon Partnerships is currently working with Birmingham
City Council to repair and maintain 60,000 properties in the city.
It's two contracts for the north and south of the city includes the
areas of Edgbaston, Hall Green, Northfield, Selly Oak, Ladywood,
Erdington, Perry Bar and Sutton Coldfield. It aims to reduce the
cost of this service by £47m over the five year terms of the
two contracts.
Shyeene Zaidibere, Willmott Dixon's north Birmingham customer
and community officer, said "We have been working with St Basils to
equip local youngsters with basic DIY skills and have been
impressed by their enthusiasm for learning, and the way that they
have welcomed us. This Christmas we were keen to give something
back to the charity and the young people that they are working
with, and help to spread a little festive cheer. However, it
wouldn't have been possible to do this without the kind support of
our local supplier Causeway, who helped us to purchase the
Christmas trees."
