Christmas will be tinged with a little sadness for staff at law
firm Lanyon Bowdler as they say their fond farewells to a member of
the team who has been with firm for the last 46 years!
Wendy Wilkinson, a fee earner in the residential property
department, started work as a junior typist for Lanyon Bowdler
straight after leaving Technical College in 1965, when the firm was
known by its previous name of J C H Bowdler & Sons. Wendy then
progressed to becoming a secretary to one of the partners, before
moving south to Sussex for several years.
On her return to Shrewsbury in 1973 she re-joined the firm and
eventually became a fee earner in residential conveyancing and plot
sales until reducing her hours to part-time in 2007.
In retirement Wendy plans to do more travelling both in this
country and abroad and hopes to work on her garden.
Commenting on Wendy's retirement, partner and head of the
property department Andrew Evans says "Wendy has been a hard
working, conscientious employee with a wealth of knowledge garnered
over many years with Lanyon Bowdler. We are sad to be losing her
but she has earned the time to relax with family and friends and to
enjoy her travelling"
