UK’s new coffee collective is bringing a taste of Jamaica to the UK

Birmingham-based businessman, Ammo Talwar, MBE, has joined forces with a group of coffee lovers to launch an exclusive coffee in the UK.

House of Blue Mountain (HoBM) is set to market Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee (JABLUM), which is believed to be one of the best and most exclusive coffees in the world.

Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee is grown only in the Jamaican Blue Mountains which, like Champagne, is a legally defined geographical area where growing conditions are perfect, producing an exquisite and uniquely wonderful taste.

From early 2012, House of Blue Mountain will be offering British coffee lovers their first chance to buy the world's most sought-after Jamaican coffee over the counter in the UK.

House of Blue Mountain Director, Ammo Talwar, says: "HoBM sells only 100% JABLUM which is certified by the Jamaican Coffee Industry Board. The Blue Mountain range where the coffee is grown is rich in volcanic soil and has a perfect balance of sunlight and protective shading mists, which produces a beautiful tasting coffee.

"JABLUM beans are sourced from 6,000 smallholders and family-run farms, and are still collected and worked mostly by hand. JABLUM offers coffee drinkers a uniquely deep, rich and authentically Jamaican taste which we're delighted to be able to offer to coffee lovers in the UK."

HoBM will be revealing its new approach to coffee culture at a unique launch event on the 15th December. This will feature a ceremonial celebrity watering of the JABLUM coffee plant at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, followed by a celebration at the Urban Coffee Company, Church Street, in the heart of Birmingham's Colmore Business District, from 5.30 - 7.30 p.m.

At the evening event there will be music, traditional Jamaican Rum Cake, and free JABLUM coffee, as well as celebrity coffee recipes, entrepreneurial tips and business networking opportunities.

House of Blue Mountain Co-Director Joan Blaney, CBE, says, "House of Blue Mountain isn't a place, it's a state of mind, it's the spot where coffee drinkers feel they've reached when they're savouring that wonderful, inspiring, energising first sip."

Coffee lovers will be able to buy Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee at Urban Coffee Company, Church Street on the day of the event.
