A unique way of teaching children how to stay safe is coming to
a primary school in Crewe.
Pupils at Berkeley Primary School will be able to take part in a
variety of safety activities, covering topics such as stranger
danger, crime prevention, drugs and road safety.
The activities form part of a school safety pack, including
games, books and posters, which has been produced by child safety
organisation, Kidsafe, with the emphasis on bringing fun to the
classroom.
Kidsafe are providing the innovative learning materials to the
school free of charge, thanks to support from the Kidsafe
Supporters Club, whose members include sponsors from the local
business community.
Chris Taylor, Managing Director at Staffordshire-based RedWeb
Technologies, which specialises in advanced forensic tagging and
GPS tracking security, was quick to get on board and offer
financial backing to bring the project to the Crewe school.
"We are delighted to be able to promote this important message
to the children of Berkeley Primary. The children will enjoy
learning and it will help them to stay safe," said Mr Taylor.
Kidsafe's ultimate goal is to provide as many schools in the UK
and Eire as possible with the safety packs, spreading the safety
message while forging links between schools and local
businesses.
The organisation's philosophy is centred on making children more
aware of the dangers they face, without destroying their sense of
adventure, by making learning about safety issues fun.
