The North winds shall blow and Santa expects snow

Pictured: Santa dishes out a special treat for Reindeer at West Midland Safari Park

As the north winds bring a definite nip to the air - Santa had only one thing on his mind. He left his cosy grotto at West Midland Safari Park to check on his trusty reindeer that are in need of a little T L C before the 'big day'. First of all, Santa hotfooted it into the Animal Reserves.

Rudolf was looking particularly splendid with his full set of antlers, winter coat and big bright eyes. The youngster of the herd - Prancer - is growing fast and adores Santa, ever eager to make sure that he doesn't let the side down come the 25th!

Duty done and a few wise words from the great man, Santa returned to the Christmas wonderland that has been especially created for him, along the way making sure that all was well with his other Reindeer in the Park's Discovery Trail.

Now in its seventh year, Santa Safari combines with the four-mile all-weather self drive safari and Discovery Trail, which also incorporates New Penguin Cove, Twilight Cave, Creepy Crawlies, Friendly Animal and Reptile Encounters, Seaquarium, Mark O'Shea's Reptile World and a Sea Lion Show.

Children can choose their own gift and have their photo taken with Santa to take home. Also included in the ticket price is a free return ticket to visit the animals again during the winter.

Adults: £11.99.  Children (1-15 years): £14.99.  Babies (up to 12 months): £7.50.

It is essential that visitors pre-book to see Santa. Ticket hotline: 01299 400700.
