One of Worcester's most popular charity events has raised more
than £5,000.
Now into its third year, the annual Prince's Trust cheese and
wine evening attracted over 100 guests from across Worcestershire's
business community who came along to enjoy fabulous wines and rare
cheeses.
Held at the city's Royal Grammar School, the event, sponsored by
commercial finance firm Century 2000, included a host of games and
quizzes where each team had to guess the wines and cheeses
described by an expert panel. The panel was headed up by former
Worcester Warriors captain, Pat Sanderson.
Viv Hudson, area chairman of the Prince's Trust in the West
Midlands said: "Our cheese and wine evening is proving to be a
popular annual event and we were delighted again to have so many
people attending.
"Raising over £5,000 is a tremendous achievement and the
money will help the Prince's Trust invest even more into the
amazing work they do with young people across Worcestershire. Once
again I'd like to thank all our event partners and our sponsors
Century 2000. So many people have given very generously to what is
a fantastic cause."
All wines for the evening were supplied by Ombersley-based wine
merchants, Richard Everton Wines.
The Prince's Trust provides practical and financial support to
young people across the UK. They help develop skills, confidence
and motivation enabling young people to move into work, education
or training. Last year the Prince's Trust, founded by Prince
Charles in 1976, supported over 46,000 young people.
