Oakland International, a multi temperature supply chain
specialist in warehousing and logistics operating across Ireland
and the UK, is delighted to be supporting the distribution of
Steinhaus GmbH Retailer branded sauces to the Irish market.
Produced in Germany, the stock is transported to Oakland's Irish
Depot in Ashbourne in Co. Meath via the company's UK hub in
Redditch. Once in Ireland the stock is stored ready for picking and
consolidating. Oakland provides a daily service to Musgrave through
their backhaul fleet for delivery into Musgrave shops across
Ireland.
Andreas Lenz, Sales Director of Steinhaus GmbH stated: "With
Oakland we are very pleased to have found a partner to develop
rapid distribution of our products within the UK and IRL. It is our
target to expand in both countries in the future. To be successful
we very much appreciate Oakland providing us with information about
the local markets/trades far in excess of the common service."
Steinhaus currently produces branded sauces for Musgrave,
partnering with Oakland International due to Oakland's extensive
experience as a consolidator across Ireland and the UK. Founded in
1998 in England, Oakland International Ireland Ltd., was set up in
2009 to improve services to and from the Irish market and is
growing rapidly year on year. The Ireland depot is geared to
helping small and medium sized producers located in Ireland or the
UK to access retailers in both markets with chilled distribution at
very competitive fixed case rates.
Oakland's flexibility allows Steinhaus to respond to retailer
requests for promotional activity, and Oakland's daily reporting
systems enable Steinhaus to tightly control their stock levels,
working on day one order for day two delivery, a schedule
impossible to achieve without a dedicated partner such as Oakland.
Oakland International General Manager for Ireland, Richard Hill,
stated: "We are pleased to be have Steinhaus on board with Oakland,
providing a one stop shop for deliveries both in Ireland and the
UK."
Oakland's investment in its Co. Meath depot has been substantial
with warehousing capacity tripled since their initial market entry
and plan for further expansion.
