RSM Tenon, which has offices across the East and West Midlands,
has been named National Firm of the Year at the British Accountancy
Awards 2011.
Alistair Wesson, RSM Tenon regional director based in
Nottingham, said: "Being awarded National Firm of the Year is one
of the highest accolades in our industry and I'm delighted that the
hard work, determination and vision shown by everyone throughout
the company have been recognised by our profession."
Judges, who included finance directors from Moonpig.com,
Unilever and ICAEW, said that was RSM Tenon was a clear winner
"with a strong approach to making people fundamental to the
business."

its value to the business. The firm punches above its weight and
has a huge belief that it will succeed and carve out a powerful
market niche."
The firm's award entry focused on:
• Professionalism - thanks partly to an award-winning
in-house training team, and a reinvigorated performance development
review system, the firm has instilled an entrepreneurial spirit
throughout its workforce.
• Measurable success - the growing quality client based
includes recent client wins such as Foreign and Commonwealth
Office, the Department for International Development, Genus plc,
Shire plc and Plusfoods.
• Innovation - the firm has created new products and
services such as Tracker, an online financial risk monitoring
system, and a new multi-service line corporate finance team.
• People - thanks to its 'smarter, together' approach, its
benefits and pension packages offered and an industry-leading

• Responsibility - the firm's innovative corporate social
responsibility programme includes participation of The Prince's

The win comes shortly after RSM Tenon launched a petition asking
the government to relax tax for entrepreneurs who employ new staff
