Pall-Ex Romania launches

Pall-Ex Romania has officially commenced network operations from its centrally located hub facility in Sibiu, becoming the second European Pall-Ex country partner to launch in less than a year.

On the first night of operations the members exchanged 180 pallets through the hub, demonstrating the potential of the national distribution solution. The independent transport, logistics and specialist distribution companies that have joined the network have fulfilled orders from retailers, manufacturers, importers and freight forwarders who are seeking an efficient, next day delivery across the country.

The Pall-Ex model provides an optimised and cost effective nationwide solution for the distribution of small consignments of palletised freight. It is intended to solve the transport and express delivery needs of manufacturers who supply retailers, dealers and large clients, and retailers who require express deliveries, as well as importers and distributors who need a national physical distribution channel.

"Our members are now able to help small customers and key accounts by offering them a flexible service aimed at addressing their evolving needs for secure, on time traceable deliveries", says Danor Ionescu, CEO Pall-Ex Romania.

"Another important benefit is the positive environmental impact created by improved vehicle utilisation, due to network efficiency.

"The model has already been successfully implemented in sister networks in Italy and Iberia, and we are confident that we can build upon this success and deliver excellence in Romania."

The services immediately offered by the new network include next day or 48h country wide and timed deliveries, and AM and Saturday AM deliveries.

Pall-Ex Romania's high calibre membership comprises members that have both proven distribution capabilities and specialist transport and logistics offerings. The network already includes such names as: Boema (Sibiu), Total As (Cluj Napoca), Gordius (Satu Mare), Exflor (Craiova), Top Vest (Brașov), Tauros (Arad), Euroccoper (Timișoara), Delamode (București), Bipmobile (București), Gral (Bacău), Amesis (Ploiesti), Beta Plus (Vâlcea) and Easy Trans (Constanța).

Pall-Ex Romania's network members are now able to promote a distribution model, which is supported by the TWINE bespoke IT system that enables on line visibility, track and trace and POD confirmation backed by a comprehensive insurance coverage.

Pall-Ex, the number one pallet distribution network in the UK, sought to establish Romania as the first Eastern European network primarily to service the country's fast growing domestic market, but also to realise its vision of a Pan European network.
