During the past week over one million shoppers have visited the
UK's most visited shopping centre, Bullring.
Shoppers flocked to the centre in their thousands over the
weekend to shop for Christmas presents whilst also visiting the new
Spiceal Street dining quarter, which welcomed three new restaurants
- Browns Bar and Brasserie, ChaoBaby and handmade burger Co.
Visitors were also able to visit the iconic bull statue on
Rotunda Square, which has been given a unique Christmas jumper for
the festive period, created by local group, Stitches and Hos. The
woolly jumper has attracted a large amount of interest from
shoppers and is proving to be one of the most popular topics ever
on Bullring's Facebook page.
Tim Walley, General Manager at Bullring, commented: "We've
experienced an exceptionally busy start to the Christmas season and
anticipate this to continue throughout the festive period. During
the past week we have exceeded the amount of shoppers we saw visit
the centre during the same week in 2010 by 8.5%."
The centre is now open until 10pm on weekdays giving shoppers an
extra two hours to shop and take advantage of Bullring's new
catering offer. From tomorrow shoppers will also be able to visit
the new store, Jack Wolfskin, which specialises in outdoor wear and
opens on the Middle East Mall.
