Artistic pupils at a Brownhills school put pen to paper after
being inspired by a new whg development taking shape in their
town.
Leading Midlands housing provider whg is building a landmark
£4.2 million scheme in High Street with development partner
Mansell Construction Services.
Youngsters at Millfield Primary School in Brownhills were
challenged to paint a poster with a building theme and the artwork
was judged by Alan Watts, whg Regeneration Manager, and Mansell
site manager Wayne Gwilt.
Alan said: "The children came up with some very creative and
colourful posters which made the task of choosing three winners
very hard."
Winners were presented with gift tokens donated by Mansell's
Stourbridge-based Western region. Prizes were awarded to pupils
Jimmy Davies, Amy Foster and Lily Hunt.
The development, alongside Wyrley & Essington Canal, has
been part funded by the Homes and Communities Agency, the national
housing and regeneration agency for England, whg and Walsall
Council.
It will provide 35 two-bedroom apartments for rent including
ground floor properties specially designed for people with
disabilities. There will also be 12 two-bedroom apartments for
sale. It is due for completion next year.
