New group urges Battlefield businesses to club together

A networking group aimed at helping Battlefield businesses join forces and work together is celebrating its initial success and is on the lookout for new members.

After staging three successful trial events to test the waters during 2011, the newly-formed Battlefield Business Club in Shrewsbury is urging local firms to sign up to next year's calendar of events, which will kick-off in January at its regular venue, the Shropshire Food Enterprise Centre, which itself is located on Battlefield Enterprise Park.

The Club is offering three-month membership packages for the price of £24 - one covering January to March, one for April to June, and the final one for September to November. Each quarterly package will include a monthly morning networking session, where members will get the chance to meet fellow entrepreneurs, while company details will also be listed on a dedicated Battlefield Business Club website www.battlefieldbusinessclub.co.uk.

"There's such a diverse range of businesses based here in Battlefield, offering an incredible array of services and products," Nick Chavasse, Chairman of Battlefield Business Club, explained. "On many occasions though, local companies are using suppliers or services from other parts of the county, or from even further afield, often meaning that they are missing out on someone offering the same service right here on their doorstep. Our events are a great way for local firms to get to know each other and find out a little bit about each others' businesses and potential partnership opportunities.

"The trial events we've held over recent months have proved extremely popular, with more than 30 businesses attending each session. They've already helped forge a number of new working relationships across Battlefield, and we're really keen for more companies to come on board and explore the opportunities on offer. Membership numbers for each session will be limited, so I'd urge anyone interested joining us to get in touch as soon as possible to reserve a place."
