Leading Midlands law firm, Flint Bishop LLP, has announced the appointment of Russell Deards as Partner and Head of Construction and Engineering.

Previously Head of Legal Services for the Barratt Group of companies including Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes, Ward Homes and Wilson Bowden Developments, Russell has specialised in the construction and engineering sector since 1998, becoming Wilson Bowden's first construction lawyer in 2004.

Having acted for developers, contractors, sub-contractors, consultants and funders on issues arising in relation to both procurement and dispute management, he has a wealth of experience in all areas of construction and engineering law including procurement and dispute resolution by negotiation, mediation, adjudication, expert determination, litigation and arbitration. 

He also has expertise in advising on customer complaint handling, the Consumer Code, Consumer Code adjudications, CML Disclosure requirements and anti-bribery policies.
