Major rise in Christmas bookings

There is plenty of Christmas cheer at a thriving entertainment venue near Coventry.

Bookings at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Meriden Road, Fillongley, have rocketed this year for its festive party nights.

Around 1,000 revellers enjoyed their office party at the multi-use venue in 2010 and this year the total has reached 1,800 thanks to the Narnia-themed festivities.

Stephen Hammon, managing director of the Heart of the England Conference and Events Centre, said the rapid rise was due to a number of factors.

"The team has far exceeded its targets for the number of Christmas party bookings in 2011," he said.

"We have noticed there has been a difference in bookings because there have been fewer large organisations booking the entire suite for the evening but instead more bookings from smaller companies who have shared party nights.

"One of our reservations was to host the party for Coventry City's players, management and staff which received great feed-back.

"I think there are several reasons why there has been such a huge rise in numbers.

"We had a high percentage of repeat bookings from last year which is always a good sign, we promoted the party nights at our Spooktacular Halloween event and our band nights and we are steadily building a deserved reputation for going the extra mile to make sure everyone has a great night.

"We put a great deal of effort, time and money into the theatrical aspect of the night and this year's theme based on The Chronicles of Narnia has proved to be extremely popular.

"Everyone entered through the enchanted wardrobe into Narnia brushing past the many coats where there were winter forest scenes, icicles, snowflakes, stars, penguins, polar bears and the Great Lion, Aslan himself. Guests received a frosted, mystical ice-drink before enjoying their three-course meal and later dancing the night away at the nightclub style disco and enjoying the fun casino.

"We always offer tremendous value for money as well as a night which leaves everyone talking about it for the right reasons and we are really pleased that all our hard work has been reflected in the number of bookings we have taken."
