A continuous improvement expert has joined Stratford-upon-Avon
based Lodders Solicitors.
Caroline Gionis, who once worked for the likes of Unilever and
Reckitt Benckiser, has been appointed human resources manager.
She said: "I am delighted to have joined such a respected
firm.
"I will be looking to further improve employee engagement and
client satisfaction by ensuring that staff have the tools, skills
and management to deliver a 'best in class' service. And I am also
tasked with using my continuous improvement background to
streamline internal processes."
Mrs Gionis says she "enjoys implementing practical solutions to
problems, and tries to look at issues from a number of angles".
She read Manufacturing Engineering at Loughborough University
and worked in fast moving consumer goods for the first 12 years of
her career.
That meant brands such as Pot Noodle, Airwick and Mr Sheen.
Starting out as an undergraduate trainee with aerospace group,
Rolls-Royce, she joined Unilever, before becoming shift manager for
food business, CPC (UK) Ltd, now a part of Unilever, where she was
responsible for leading a shift of approximately 100 operators and
engineers in the Pot Noodle factory.
She switched to Reckitt Benckiser in Derby, first as production
manager responsible for the Airwick and Mr Sheen lines, and then as
kaizen leader, charged with implementing a culture of continuous
improvement across the site.
Then Mrs Gionis, who is half Swiss, decided to switch into human
resources, studying for the required qualifications and joining the
National Examination Board for Occupational Safety and Health in
Leicester as HR officer.
And, prior to taking up her Lodders' role, she was HR manager
for Serco Occupational Health, Wythall, Birmingham for four years,
responsible for all recruitment, including physicians and other
clinical staff.
Senior partner David Lodder said: "We welcome Caroline to the
firm.
"She has a wealth of experience, a track-record of making things
happen and I am confident she will make a real difference at
Lodders.
"Continuous improvement is something we have always aspired to
do and I am sure Caroline will have plenty of ideas for building on
what has been achieved to date."
Mrs Gionis is married with two children and lives near
Stratford. She has an active lifestyle, playing tennis, swimming,
going to the gym and mountain-biking.
