Local business owners and managers gathered in Market Harborough
last week (Tuesday 29th November) to learn about how social media
can help their companies. The free seminar, which explained how the
use of websites such as Facebook and Twitter can help to grow
businesses was held at the new Arc Business Centre at Archway House
on the outskirts of Market Harborough.
The seminar explained why organisations should use social media
and included a general overview of different social media websites.
Speaker, Alastair Campbell of The Ideal Marketing Company
(www.theidealmarketingcompany.com) was delighted with the interest
shown by local companies. "No one can really afford to ignore the
impact that social media can have on their turnover and
profitability - they are now as important tools as having a company
website," he comments. "However, many people are still unsure about
how best to go about using social media effectively and so I felt
that a seminar on the subject would be useful for businesses in the
region."
The event was the first to be held at the newly opened Arc
Business Centre and was fully subscribed, attracting over 60 guests
from all over Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. "Alastair made
some great points that have made us think about what we should be
doing in regard to using social media alongside our current
marketing," comments delegate Trish Polgreen of Andrew Granger
& Co estate agency. "It was really interesting to be able to
see the potential that these sites have for businesses in all areas
of industry."
Due to the high demand, another seminar on the topic is being
planned for 31st January 2012, also at the Arc Business Centre
which has units of varying sizes available for lease. For more
