A historic Nottingham venue has reopened true to its heritage
after being bought and revamped by the Ever So Sensible
Group.
Fothergills, which has existed at the site on Castle Road in
Nottingham city centre under various ownerships, and was previously
a bar and grill, has been refitted to become a bistro-style
pub.
Chris Bulaitis, managing director of the Ever So Sensible Group,
said: "We've had a very busy first few days and had some great
feedback about the changes we've made.
"Fothergills now offers a more unique international bistro-style
menu, using ingredients from local producers. We also offer ales
from local micro-breweries and a great selection of wines.
"Customers can now settle in more relaxed and welcoming
surroundings, true to the building's heritage and with great views
of Nottingham Castle."
The building, built in 1883 and designed by Watson Fothergill,
now features a more stripped-back and relaxed interior, displaying
more of the site's original features and architectural
significance.
The opening of Fothergills marks the completion of the Ever So
Sensible Group's 11th site. The company's current portfolio
includes Le Mistral Bistros in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire,
Dogma in Lincoln and Nottingham, The Castle and Bad Juju in
Nottingham, The Marquis Wellington in Leicester and the recently
opened Horse & Groom in Lincoln.
