Two trainee solicitors from the Eversheds Nottingham office have
scooped first and second place in the Nottinghamshire Law Society's
President's Cup.
Helen Webster and Victoria Ferres were awarded their prizes in
front of the Nottingham legal community at the recent Junior
Lawyer's Division Ball, which was held at The Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Helen was awarded first place, and Victoria second place in the
annual challenge where trainee solicitors in the city are set a
legal challenge and then have to present their responses to a panel
of judges.
The President's Cup is a skills-based competition open to all
members of the Nottinghamshire Junior Lawyers Division. The purpose
of the competition is to build and enhance the communication skills
of junior lawyers through set tasks such as presenting how you
would give written advice to a client on a legal issue.
Helen was presented with the President's Cup and a cheque for
£250, and Victoria received the runner's up prize of
£150.
Mark Wood, the training and graduate recruitment partner for the
Nottingham office says: "We only welcomed Victoria and Helen to the
team in September, and we are really proud that they've already
done so well in this challenge.
"At Eversheds we pride ourselves on taking on and developing new
talent who will complement our existing capability in all areas of
our business, needless to say we have found two high achieving
recruits in Helen and Victoria".
