UK Trade & Investment East Midlands is giving local
businesses the opportunity to find out about the massive
opportunities available in Brazil first-hand.
Companies on the market visit, which takes place between 11 and
16 March, will have the chance to get in-depth market research to
identify relevant contacts in their sector before meeting them
face-to-face. The deadline to sign up is 6 December.
Brazil is creating opportunities in all sectors and their
preparation to host the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic games means
further significant opportunities for UK businesses.
Gordon Binnie, International trade adviser for UK Trade &
Investment East Midlands, said:
"Since 2009 over 40 East Midlands companies have participated in
our group visits to Brazil, bringing back real orders and sales
estimated at over £3 million.
"Our most recent visit included companies from service and
product sectors, including oil & gas, textiles, training,
steel, wind-energy and healthcare, amongst others, and they brought
back real orders, with a further sales estimate of £1.9m over
the next 12 months.
"Brazil is the fifth-largest country in the world, has the
ninth-largest economy and a population of nearly 200 million.
Combine this with the strong trading relationship already in place
and it's too large a market to ignore."
