Leicester-based architectural practice, rg+p Ltd has formally
signed contracts with MRP Hinckley No.1 LP to oversee a major
redevelopment project in the centre of Hinckley.
The multi-disciplinary practice has been appointed to act as
employer's agent, quantity surveyor, party wall assessor and
construction, design and management co-ordinator (CDM), on the
substantial refurbishment and extension of the former Flude Hosiery
Factory on Hawley Road.
To be constructed by Hallam Contracts Ltd, the scheme has been
designed to achieve a BREEAM 'Excellent' and when complete in
January 2013, will form a public sector hub for Hinckley &
Bosworth Borough Council, Leicester County Council and other public
sector partners. The new Council civic suite will double up as a
training and conference facility for local businesses.
Mitch Dale, director, rg+p Ltd said: "This is a fabulous project
and we are delighted to be taking such a pivotal role in the
regeneration of this site.
"Today's contracts signing marks the beginning of a very
exciting time for Hinckley, its residents and the Council and I am
looking forward to seeing the scheme come to fruition."
Richard Anderson, director, MRP said: "We are very pleased to be
working with rg+p, Hallam Contracts and Hinckley and Bosworth
Borough Council on this project. This is a genuine co-location
'hub' for public sector partners in a highly sustainable building
and an exciting new model for the delivery of public services in
Hinckley."
