Weston Park will host its largest ever Christmas Fayre on
Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th December.
The stately homes annual event will feature over 40 indoor and
outdoor stalls bursting with festive food, drink and handmade
crafts, supported by a selection of the region's best local
producers.
Visitors will be able to enjoy festive delights from
Shropshire Spice Co, Village Green Crafts from Shrewsbury,
Pepperberry Designs, The Pamper Pantry from Telford and Old Hall
Confectionary from Eccleshall amongst many others.
Weston Park's own Granary Farm Shop will be bursting with
Christmas spirit from the Chef's specials to inspiring recipes plus
seasonal fruit, vegetables and party food and drinks. Christmas
meat orders can be taken throughout the event by butcher, Andy
Lockley, choosing from a wide range of local turkeys, roasting
joints and accompaniments.
For that extra Christmas sparkle the Granary Art Gallery will
feature a special exhibition to mark the 25th anniversary of the
creation of the Weston Park Foundation.
In 1986 Richard, the 7th and current Earl of Bradford gifted the
House and 1,000 acres of Parkland to the nation which saw the birth
of the Weston Park Foundation.
Two local artists have been commissioned to capture the very
essence of the estate through a collection of watercolours, oil
paintings and drawings depicting the House, Gardens and the
individuals that form the estate team.
Throughout the weekend visitor refreshments will include a hog
roast, crepes, mulled wine plus the opportunity to enjoy a festive
lunch in the Granary Grill.
The House will be traditionally decorated for the event and
visitors can take a tour of the historic rooms with a festive
trail.
Andrea Webster, marketing executive at Weston Park, said: "With
over 40 stalls this year's Fayre is our largest yet and makes for a
great day out to shop for unusual gifts and fabulous food and
drink."
The Christmas Fayre takes place on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th
December from 10am to 4pm and is free to enter.
Admission to the House is £2 per person.
The Granary Grill, Bar & Restaurant is open for lunch from
12noon - 3pm, pre-booking is advised.
