Paul Mountain, partner in SGH Martineau's construction team,
recently scooped the award for 'Member of the Year 2011' at the
Midlands Environmental Business Company's 20th Anniversary Business
Celebration Dinner.
The MEBC event which took place at Birmingham Council House,
celebrated 20 years of activity for the 300-strong network which
includes individuals and organisations from the region's corporate
and public sectors. As one of the longest-standing green business
networks, the MEBC actively contributes to the Low Carbon and
sustainable development agenda by working with organisations to
promote the benefits of a green economy.
Paul, who has been involved with the MEBC for over 10 years,
said: "The MEBC has played a critically important role in raising
the profile of the need for sustainable economic development across
the Midlands. There are many of us working together to promote the
advantages of renewable energy technologies and energy efficient
construction and I'm proud to have been involved for so long.
Despite the difficulties in kick-starting the low carbon
economy, I believe that 2012 will see some really exciting
projects taking off in the Midlands, projects that will make a real
change for the better the way in which we live and work.
The MEBC is the regional branch of the Business Council for
Sustainable Development United Kingdom.
